Ethanol Description

Ethanol is a type of denatured alcohol used as a solvent. When used on skin, this type of alcohol in skin care can be drying and sensitizing, especially when it is one of the main ingredients in a makeup or skin care formula.

In its non-denatured form, this is the type of alcohol associated with alcoholic beverages. Ethanol derived from corn is also sometimes used as a biofuel.
